Private Satellite Communication Network Engineer
Function
We're looking for a consultant to join our client's team, where you'll play a significant role in advancing their pivotal projects within the energy sector. As the energy landscape evolves across Belgium and Germany, your contributions will help ensure a reliable and sustainable electricity supply. You'll collaborate with a variety of professionals to support the creation of innovative, green energy infrastructure that fosters both economic development and environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities
Your role will involve leveraging private satellite communication technology as a backup for high-voltage substation RTUs and telephony communications, which includes:
- Collaborating closely with contractors and stakeholders to define the design and implementation of solutions, focusing on data traffic management, network management systems, antenna and modem installations, and more.
- Serving as the technical expert on private satellite communication technology, validating designs, and driving issues toward resolution.
- Drafting acceptance test plans and technical documentation to facilitate the mass rollout across multiple sites.
Technical Project Management Support
You will support project management by:
- Helping define project plans and priorities with project stakeholders.
- Participating in project follow-up meetings to monitor progress, identify risks, and resolve issues.
- Contributing to the drafting and validation of materials and proposals from contractors while maintaining project documentation.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- A Master's degree in telecommunications engineering or equivalent technical experience.
- A strong grasp of private satellite communication technology, with operational experience preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills paired with strong written and oral communication abilities.
- Experience in editing technical documentation, project management skills, and the ability to work independently and methodically.
- Fluency in English and Dutch is required, and a driver's license is needed.

Additional Information
The position requires full-time onsite presence in Brussels for two days a week on average. For non-EU candidates, compliance with local work and residence regulations is essential.
