Project Manager & Architect SAP S/4HANA

Function

We’re looking for a seasoned Project Manager / Architect to join our client’s team and take a leading role in shaping, optimising, and future-proofing their SAP S/4HANA Master Data Governance (MDG) landscape. You will operate at the crossroads of architecture, project delivery, and functional excellence, supporting a business-critical logistics environment while driving major enhancements and long-term transformation initiatives.

This position requires a strategic thinker who can critically assess change requests, translate business needs into scalable SAP solutions, and lead projects from blueprint to hypercare within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for both strategic project delivery and daily functional oversight of SAP MDG solutions within a logistics-driven operational context. Every requested change must be evaluated from both a process and architectural perspective, ensuring feasibility, necessity, and long-term alignment with the overall SAP roadmap.

You will act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, providing best-practice guidance on SAP MDG and S/4HANA solutions while ensuring stable operations and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Major Changes & Project Delivery

• Lead and implement large-scale enhancements and transformation projects within SAP MDG (current and future S/4HANA environments)

• Advise stakeholders on MDG best practices and optimal SAP solution design

• Develop conceptual proposals for significant system renewals and improvements

• Organise and facilitate blueprint workshops

• Perform critical analysis of change requests

• Draft technical specifications and validate enhancements through functional unit testing

• Coordinate integration and user acceptance testing

• Prepare production transitions and manage post go-live hypercare

• Define and maintain a long-term architectural roadmap for MDG S/4HANA

Operational & Functional Oversight

• Provide daily functional support within the MDG landscape

• Manage project planning, budget follow-up, and adjustments

• Troubleshoot bugs and perform issue debugging

• Monitor MDG workflows and ensure stability of data processes

The Ideal Candidate

• Minimum 4 years of proven experience in SAP MDG / Master Data developments

• At least 3 full lifecycle implementations within SAP MDG environments

• 5 years of project management experience in MDG-related projects

• 3 years of experience in budgeting and project planning

• Experience setting up and working with RACI models

• Strong knowledge of:

  • UI5 and Floorplan Manager (FPM)

  • BRF / BRF+ rules

  • Mass Change processes in MDG S/4HANA

  • Central Governance

  • Data Replication Framework

  • Consolidation processes

  • SAP workflow configuration

  • ABAP OO (knowledge level)

Additional assets

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA and/or ECC

• SAP interfacing knowledge (EDI, OData, CIG, integration with Ariba in MM, VMI)

• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, X-Ray testing tools

• Understanding of logistics processes

• Trilingual: Dutch, French, and English (written and spoken)

• Availability for 3 onsite days per week
