Project Manager Infrastructure

We're looking for an experienced consultant to join our client's team. You will play a crucial role in leading and coordinating strategic IT infrastructure projects, particularly focusing on modernizing systems by decommissioning legacy mainframe environments and migrating to contemporary solutions.

Your primary responsibilities will include the oversight of the mainframe decommissioning project, where you will:

• Assess current systems and define the migration phases.
• Develop a comprehensive roadmap while ensuring the tracking of milestones.
• Coordinate internal teams and external service providers to maintain project timelines.
• Identify risks and ensure continuity of services throughout the process.

Additionally, you will manage the migration and modernization of databases, specifically leading efforts to transition from legacy systems to PostgreSQL. Collaboration with external vendors is key, as you will oversee project progress and ensure the quality of deliverables, define service level agreements (SLAs), and maintain effective communication between all stakeholders.

• Oversee external service providers and ensure seamless service delivery.
• Implement AI solutions for modernizing legacy code, while ensuring compliance with contemporary development standards.

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in managing complex IT projects.
• Proven track record in mainframe decommissioning and database migration.
• A strong interest in emerging technologies and the application of AI in development processes.

• Expertise in project management within IT infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of mainframe systems and migration strategies.
• Advanced proficiency in PostgreSQL, including administration and optimization.
• Experience in managing IT vendors and contracts.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Fluency in English and Dutch is required for this position.
