We're looking for a highly experienced consultant to join our client's dynamic team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in software engineering, blended with leadership skills and a passion for innovative technology solutions.

Responsibilities and Role

The selected individual will take on a pivotal role in designing software architecture and APIs, while also ensuring the performance and reliability of distributed systems. This position involves collaboration across various teams, including product development, DevOps, and quality assurance, fostering a culture of cross-functional teamwork. Additionally, you will guide development teams and participate in performance engineering initiatives, while ensuring cybersecurity compliance and audits are meticulously followed.

Key Tasks

• Design and implement robust software architectures and APIs.
• Manage and optimize distributed systems, ensuring consensus and transactionality.
• Oversee legacy Java applications using frameworks such as Spring Boot and Hibernate.
• Work with multiple database systems including Postgres, MySQL, DB2, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Utilize technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Azure, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead development teams and facilitate cross-functional collaboration for project success.
• Conduct performance engineering assessments and enhancements.
• Maintain strong cybersecurity practices throughout the development lifecycle.

The Ideal Candidate

The candidate should possess a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in various programming languages is essential, with a focus on **Java** and **Python**. Experience with Linux is required, and you should be comfortable working with both legacy systems and modern application development practices. Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English are necessary for effective collaboration within the team and with stakeholders.
