SAP BW/4HANA Application Analyst & Developer

Function

We're looking for an experienced SAP BW/4HANA Application Analyst / Developer to join our client's Data & Analytics team. In this role, you will combine application ownership, functional analysis, and development responsibilities, working closely with business stakeholders to deliver reliable reporting and analytics solutions. You will operate at the intersection of business needs and technical implementation, translating requirements into effective dashboards, reports, and data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and document business requirements for reporting and dashboard solutions.

• Translate business needs into clear functional specifications and reporting requirements.

• Act as a key point of contact for users, business stakeholders, developers, and external suppliers.

• Maintain close relationships with different business departments and stakeholders.

• Propose and validate reporting solutions through mock-ups, Proofs of Concept, and best practices.

• Validate reports and dashboards developed by internal or external development teams.

• Manage and maintain the documentation of applications, reports, dashboards, and underlying solutions.

• Coordinate roadmaps covering enhancements, incidents, bugs, and continuous improvements.

• Monitor the consistency of solutions with existing business and IT architecture, collaborating with Enterprise, System, and Solution Architects where required.

• Contribute to test scenario definition, functional testing, data cleansing, and solution validation.

• Gain a strong understanding of operational processes, including planning, scheduling, asset maintenance, logistics, and workforce-related activities. Occasional visits to operational sites may be required.

Profile & Technical Expertise

• Master's degree in IT, engineering, economics, or a related discipline.

• 15+ years of professional experience with SAP BW / BW/4HANA.

• 3+ years of experience within the railway sector.

• Relevant SAP certifications in BW, BW/4HANA, and/or SAP Datasphere.

• Strong hands-on knowledge of SAP BW, SAP BW/4HANA, Web Intelligence (WebI), SAP BusinessObjects, SAP Analytics Cloud, and Power BI.

• Proven experience with migration projects from SAP BW 7.x to BW/4HANA.

• Strong knowledge of SAP MM and SAP PM.

• Knowledge of SAP FI/CO and SAP PS is an advantage.

• Familiarity with analysis techniques such as use-case analysis and scenario development.

• Experience working according to Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, combined with a pragmatic and hands-on approach.

• Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently as well as with multidisciplinary teams.

• Excellent communication skills in Dutch, French, and English: Dutch or French at C-level, with the other languages at minimum B2 level.

Practical Information

The assignment requires a high level of on-site presence, potentially up to five days per week at our client's offices. The exact on-site requirements may vary depending on business and project needs. Candidates should therefore be comfortable working in an environment where regular face-to-face collaboration is expected.
