SAP Program & Transformation Manager

Function

We’re looking for a SAP Program & Transformation Manager to join our client’s team and take ownership of large-scale, multi-project transformation initiatives. In this role, you will steer complex SAP-driven programs end-to-end, ensuring alignment between business strategy, IT delivery, and organizational change. You will operate at executive level, coordinating multiple stakeholders and ensuring successful delivery of strategic transformation objectives in a highly complex environment.

Role & Responsibilities

As SAP Program & Transformation Manager, you will be responsible for leading and governing a portfolio of interrelated projects:

• Program Leadership & Planning
  • Define, manage, and maintain the overall program roadmap in alignment with business objectives
  • Oversee scope, dependencies, risks, priorities, budgets, and success criteria
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable short-, mid-, and long-term execution plans
  • Ensure coordination across multiple SAP-related projects and workstreams
• Program Governance & Financial Oversight
  • Monitor program progress, costs, effort, and delivery outcomes on a regular basis
  • Manage risks and issues, escalating when needed and ensuring timely resolution
  • Validate and approve change requests in line with governance frameworks
  • Oversee budget planning, tracking, and amendments across the program
• Stakeholder Management & Communication
  • Build strong relationships with business and IT leadership across multiple directorates
  • Report progress transparently to senior and executive stakeholders (CxO level)
  • Prepare and lead steering committees and ensure high-quality reporting
  • Maintain continuous alignment between business and IT organizations
• Team Leadership & PMO Management
  • Lead and coach program and project managers within the overall program structure
  • Ensure effective workload distribution, resource planning, and team performance
  • Support and structure the PMO to enable large-scale program delivery
  • Resolve conflicts and ensure smooth collaboration across teams and stakeholders
• Program Closure & Transition
  • Ensure proper handover to Operations and Support teams
  • Guarantee documentation, training, and deliverables are completed and transferred correctly
  • Oversee post-project integration and operational readiness

Profile – The Ideal Candidate

• Minimum 15 years of experience as an ERP Program or Transformation Manager
• Proven track record delivering large SAP transformation programs (including S/4HANA environments)
• Experience managing end-to-end programs covering multiple domains such as Finance, HR, Procurement, Supply Chain, Asset Management, and Maintenance
• Strong background in large-scale change management using methodologies such as ADKAR
• Extensive experience setting up and managing PMOs for complex SAP programs (20+ projects)
• Proven ability to lead multi-project, cross-functional, and international teams
• Strong experience managing RFP processes in public sector or regulated environments
• Demonstrated success working with system integrators and external vendors
• Ability to operate at executive level and manage CxO stakeholder relationships
• Experience delivering programs under strict constraints (budget, scope, timeline, quality)

Language & Practical Requirements

• Fluent in Dutch, French, and English (written and spoken at professional level)
• Strong on-site presence in Brussels area required (near Brussels-South station or other locations in Belgium)
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime or weekends when required

Experience & Expertise

• Deep expertise in SAP transformation programs across large and complex organizations
• Strong leadership capability in structuring and guiding large-scale PMO environments
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities, dependencies, and organizational complexity
• Experience in public sector or similarly large enterprise environments is highly valued
• Strong governance mindset with focus on delivery, control, and stakeholder alignment
