SAP Project Manager

Function

We’re looking for an experienced SAP Project Manager to join our client’s team and lead a strategic transformation program within a complex business environment. You will be responsible for driving the delivery of integrated SAP solutions across critical business processes, while ensuring strong governance, stakeholder alignment, delivery control, and organizational readiness. Role & Responsibilities

• Lead SAP implementation and transformation projects from initiation through go-live and stabilization.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, budgets, timelines, and success criteria.
• Establish effective project governance, reporting structures, and dependency management across multiple workstreams.
• Engage senior business stakeholders, facilitate workshops, manage expectations, and drive timely decisions.
• Coordinate delivery across external implementation partners, enterprise architects, technical teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain RAID management, proactively identify risks and issues, and implement appropriate mitigation and escalation strategies.
• Monitor vendor performance, contractual commitments, budgets, forecasts, and expenditure against the approved business case.
• Oversee quality management, testing, acceptance criteria, and readiness activities, including SIT, UAT, performance testing, and cutover testing.
• Support change management, training, communications, and go-live readiness to ensure successful adoption and benefits realization.

Technical Profile

The ideal candidate combines strong project management expertise with solid knowledge of SAP transformation environments, ideally within insurance or another highly regulated and process-driven industry.

• 4+ years of project management experience, including at least 2 years leading SAP projects.
• Proven experience managing budgets exceeding €1 million.
• Strong knowledge of SAP insurance solutions and transformation environments.
• Experience with SAP portal solutions and integrations involving SAP FS-PM, FS-CM, FS-CD, SAP BW, SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), MDG, and Business Partner.
• Exposure to SAP ABAP and SAP BTP.
• Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager or Cloud ALM.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, and Project Online / Planner.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA is an advantage.
• Proven experience working with external system integrators or implementation partners.
• Background in SAP insurance transformation is essential; experience in export credit or reinsurance is a plus.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, influencing, conflict-resolution, and executive stakeholder management skills.
• Strategic and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to make sound decisions and lead teams effectively under pressure.
• Good command of English.
