SAP S/4 MDG Project Manager & Architect

Function

We're looking for an experienced Senior SAP S/4HANA Master Data Governance (MDG) Project Manager / Architect to join our client's team and help shape, optimize, and modernize critical SAP solutions supporting complex logistics and operational processes. In this role, you'll combine strong technical expertise with project leadership, guiding major changes, supporting existing and future MDG solutions, and facilitating the transition to SAP S/4HANA. You'll play a key role in ensuring that proposed changes are carefully assessed for business value, technical feasibility, and architectural alignment, while advising stakeholders on SAP best practices and sustainable solution design.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate major SAP MDG changes, enhancements, and implementation initiatives.
• Support current and future SAP MDG solutions, including SAP S/4HANA go-live preparation, transitional phases, and progressive rollout.
• Advise business stakeholders on MDG best practices, SAP capabilities, and appropriate solution approaches.
• Analyze change requests critically and develop conceptual proposals for significant system improvements and modernization projects.
• Troubleshoot issues, coordinate resolution activities, and prepare detailed technical specifications.
• Perform functional unit testing of enhancements and coordinate post-go-live hypercare planning and support.
• Manage project planning, budgeting, stakeholder alignment, and governance activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical recommendations for business stakeholders.

The Ideal Candidate

• At least 4 years of proven experience in SAP MDG and master data development.
• Experience with at least 3 full lifecycle implementations involving SAP MDG or master data management.
• At least 4 years of project management experience in MDG projects, including a minimum of 3 years in budgeting and project planning.
• Hands-on knowledge of SAP S/4HANA MDG, mass changes, SAP UI5, Floorplan Manager (FPM), and BRF rules.
• Experience establishing at least one RACI matrix.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business users.
• Fluent in Dutch, French, and English, both written and spoken.

Additional Skills That Will Set You Apart

Experience with Central Governance, Data Replication Framework (DRF), data consolidation, ABAP Object-Oriented programming (ABAP OO), and SAP workflow configuration will be considered a strong asset. Candidates who can demonstrate relevant project achievements, extensive hands-on expertise, and a structured approach to delivering complex SAP solutions will stand out. This assignment requires a willingness to work on-site at our client's offices for up to five days per week, depending on project needs.
