SAP S/4HANA MDG Developer

Function

We’re looking for a SAP S/4HANA MDG Developer to join our client’s team and play a key role in a large-scale greenfield S/4HANA transformation.

Our client is building and optimizing a mission-critical SAP landscape that supports complex logistics operations. As part of this strategic initiative, you will take ownership of SAP MDG development, enhancements, and innovation — ensuring robust master data governance across both current and future SAP environments.

The Role

As SAP S/4HANA MDG Developer, you will collaborate with functional and technical experts to design, improve, and maintain advanced MDG solutions. You will act as both a hands-on technical specialist and a trusted advisor, driving best practices and ensuring high-quality delivery throughout the full lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and implement major changes and enhancement projects within SAP MDG (ECC & S/4HANA environments)

• Provide expert guidance on MDG best practices and solution design

• Translate business requirements into conceptual designs and technical specifications

• Organize and facilitate blueprint workshops

• Perform critical analysis of change requests and assess solution impact

• Act as the primary technical contact for ABAP developers during enhancements

• Write, develop, test, and debug technical specifications (ABAP & ABAP OO)

• Execute functional unit testing and support production transitions, including hypercare

• Provide ongoing functional support, ticket resolution, and issue debugging

• Contribute to system optimization, including legacy solution clean-up and new solution development

• Manage smaller project streams (timeline & coordination)

The Ideal Candidate

You are a seasoned SAP MDG specialist with a strong technical foundation and a structured, solution-oriented mindset. You combine architectural understanding with hands-on development capabilities and feel comfortable interacting with both business and IT stakeholders.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Minimum 4 years of proven experience in SAP MDG architecture and master data development

• At least 3 full lifecycle implementations within SAP MDG

• Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC

• Proven experience setting up mass changes in MDG S/4HANA

• Solid ABAP and ABAP OO expertise (technical specs, development, testing, debugging)

• Experience with BRF+ rules

• Knowledge of Floorplan Manager (FPM)

• UI5 knowledge

• Experience designing and implementing at least one RACI framework

• Ability to work on-site 3 days per week

• Trilingual proficiency: Dutch, French, and English (written and spoken)

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Data Replication Framework

• Consolidation expertise

• SAP MDG UX enhancements

• Workflow monitoring in MDG

• SAP interfacing (EDI, ODATA, CIG), Ariba integration (MM, VMI)

• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, X-Ray testing

• Background in logistics environments
