Our client is seeking a skilled Scrum Master who serves as the crucial reference in projects utilizing an agile framework, particularly the Scrum methodology. The ideal candidate will guarantee that the project team fully understands the methodology and will assist in maximizing the project's outcomes. Additionally, this role focuses on shielding the team from any internal and external distractions.

Responsibilities

The Scrum Master will be responsible for ensuring the effective application of Agile Methodology by guiding and coaching the project team, business lines, and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:

• Facilitating Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Planning, and Retrospectives
• Tracking key steps of the methodology and ensuring a seamless process
• Supporting the Product Owner with the Product Backlog and assisting the team in delivering the Definition of Done (DoD) and Sprint Backlog
• Monitoring team capacity and velocity metrics for better planning and progress evaluation.

Coaching and Methodology

In your coaching role, you will challenge and support the project team in overcoming difficulties while promoting self-organization. Additional duties include:

• Eliminating barriers to team effectiveness and protecting them from distractions
• Acting as an ambassador for agile methods
• Providing reports on the deployment of the Scrum methodology
• Managing risks and issues effectively.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience and be proficient in agile tools such as Jira, with a solid grasp of automated testing and continuous integration. Experience in both software and project management methodologies is essential. Furthermore, the candidate should possess:

• Strong knowledge of agile practices, particularly Scrum and Kanban
• Excellent soft skills including empathy, communication abilities, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
• A proactive attitude towards knowledge sharing and continuous improvement, supporting team building and collaboration.
• Fluency in English and at least one local language, with knowledge of Dutch or French also preferred.
