Scrum Master / Release Train Engineer

Function

We’re looking for a Senior Scrum Master / Release Train Engineer to join our client’s organization on a portfolio of strategically important digital healthcare initiatives. In this role, you will support multiple agile teams working on large-scale, long-term platforms and services with a direct impact on end users. The environment combines Scrum, SAFe, and traditional project governance, requiring someone who can balance agile best practices with pragmatic delivery management.

Role & Responsibilities

• Act as Scrum Master and Release Train Engineer across several agile teams operating in parallel
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, quarterly planning sessions, and cross-team coordination activities
• Coach teams, stakeholders, and leadership in applying Agile and SAFe principles effectively
• Ensure agile methodologies are implemented consistently while adapting approaches where necessary to fit organizational realities
• Support collaboration between development teams, Product Owners, and project leadership structures
• Identify and remove impediments impacting delivery and team performance
• Promote continuous improvement, transparency, and agile maturity across the organization
• Work within a complex stakeholder environment where agile and traditional project management approaches coexist

Ideal Candidate

• Extensive experience as a Scrum Master in enterprise-level environments
• Strong expertise in Agile methodologies and agile coaching
• Proven experience working within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• Comfortable operating in environments combining Agile delivery with structured governance frameworks
• Able to demonstrate assertiveness, facilitation skills, and strong stakeholder management capabilities
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
• Previous experience within public sector or highly regulated environments is considered a strong advantage
• Pragmatic mindset with the ability to tailor methodologies while preserving core agile values

Technical Skills & Experience

• Expert knowledge of Scrum and Agile practices
• Experience facilitating multi-team or program-level agile delivery
• Agile coaching capabilities
• Strong understanding of release planning and dependency management
• Hands-on experience with Jira / Confluence
• Familiarity with SAFe planning and execution processes
