Security Specialist

Function

Our client is seeking an experienced security professional to support the strengthening of its network and security environment. The assignment focuses on improving the resilience, availability, and protection of critical infrastructure, with particular attention to network segmentation and web application firewalling.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the network and security architecture, with a focus on F5 load balancing and Fortinet firewall solutions.
• Ensure high availability and optimal performance of critical business systems and applications.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the network architecture and the implementation of security policies.
• Support projects and changes related to network improvement, segmentation, and security strengthening.
• Advise on technical risks, security measures, and structural improvements.

Technical Skills

• Strong experience in Azure and cybersecurity.
• Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
• Proven expertise with F5 solutions, including firewall and load balancing capabilities.
• Experience with Fortinet FortiGate and FortiAnalyzer.
• Solid understanding of firewall technologies, network security, SIEM, Sentinel, and VLAN environments.

Profile

• Confirmed experience in a security architecture or similar senior security role.
• Ability to operate in a proactive, solution-oriented way across operations, projects, and advisory topics.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess technical risks and propose effective improvements.
• Comfortable collaborating with internal IT colleagues, vendors, and project teams.

Practical Information

• This is a long-term consulting opportunity.
• Language requirements: active knowledge of Dutch or French; English is a nice to have.
