Senior Application Owner

Function

Our client is seeking an experienced Application Owner to join and strengthen their Microservices team. As a Microservices Application Owner, you will play a key role in managing, optimizing, and further developing the organization’s microservices architecture. You’ll take ownership of mission-critical applications, ensuring their stability, performance, and integration within a complex IT ecosystem. Our client is a forward-thinking public organization based in the Ghent region, dedicated to developing and managing digital solutions that support a wide range of urban services. Every day, they work on building reliable and high-performing IT systems that have a direct impact on citizens, employees, and partners.

In this role, you will

• Manage and optimize microservices and service-oriented applications.
• Oversee releases, incidents, and change management processes.
• Analyze technical issues and propose sustainable, long-term solutions.
• Collaborate closely with development teams (Java or .NET) to implement new features.
• Monitor application performance and availability through relevant tools.
• Manage integration components within a complex environment involving APIs, Gateways, and ESBs.
• Ensure compliance with security and technical standards across the application landscape.

Your profile

You are an experienced Application Administrator with a strong technical foundation and a passion for integration and reliability. You combine analytical thinking with clear communication and take ownership of your work.

You bring

• 5 years as an Application Administrator.
• Strong experience with SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture).
• Experience with Microservices.
• Experience with OpenShift.
• Experience with SQL.
• Strong development experience in Java or .NET.
• Experience in a complex integration environment (API / Gateway / ESB).
• Strong command of the Dutch language (spoken and written).
