Senior Azure Cloud DBA Engineer

Function

We're looking for an experienced Senior Azure Cloud DBA Engineer to join our client's team and help design, manage, and optimize robust cloud database environments. In this role, you'll combine deep database administration expertise with strong Azure cloud knowledge to ensure the performance, availability, security, and reliability of critical data platforms.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, administer, and maintain database environments hosted on Microsoft Azure.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, availability, scalability, and resource utilization.
• Implement database security measures, access controls, backup strategies, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
• Manage database migrations, upgrades, patching, and configuration changes across cloud environments.
• Establish and maintain database standards, operational procedures, and best practices.
• Collaborate with cloud engineers, developers, architects, and other technical stakeholders to deliver reliable and efficient database solutions.
• Support automation initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of database operations.

The Ideal Candidate

You're a seasoned database professional with a strong background in cloud technologies and a proactive approach to solving complex technical challenges. You combine analytical thinking with hands-on expertise, take ownership of database reliability, and communicate effectively with both technical teams and stakeholders.

Your profile includes:

• Extensive experience in database administration, ideally in senior-level roles.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Azure database services and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with database performance tuning, troubleshooting, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Solid understanding of database security, backup and recovery procedures, and access management.
• Experience with database migrations, upgrades, and cloud optimization.
• Familiarity with scripting and automation to streamline database operations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
