Senior BI Data Engineer (K10246)

Function

Our client is looking for a senior data engineering expert to strengthen its Business Intelligence environment. In this role, you will help design, develop, and maintain a reliable and scalable data platform that supports reporting, analysis, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will also play a key technical advisory role, supporting BI and ETL developers with complex challenges and contributing to the quality and continuity of the platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL and ELT processes.
• Integrate data from a wide range of internal and external sources.
• Build and optimize data warehouses and data marts.
• Develop dimensional data models using proven approaches such as Kimball.
• Implement data solutions in both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Contribute to the further development and modernization of the BI platform.
• Monitor and improve performance, stability, and scalability of data solutions.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
• Support ETL and BI developers with complex technical analysis and implementation challenges.
• Advise on the most suitable technical solution within existing architecture and development standards.
• Assist with performance issues, data integration challenges, and complex incidents.
• Help define and apply technical standards and best practices.
• Act as a technical point of contact for complex data-related questions.

Technical Skills

• Strong experience in data warehousing, data engineering, and data integration.
• Hands-on knowledge of ETL and ELT processes.
• Experience with hybrid environments, combining on-premises and cloud technologies.
• Solid background in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Services and Microsoft Fabric.
• Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Experience with modern data architectures.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, including star and snowflake models.
• Experience with data lake solutions and data quality practices.
• Knowledge of Data Vault is a plus.
• Additional assets include Azure Data Factory, Power BI, Spark, Python, Git, and Azure DevOps.

Profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or Data Warehousing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent technical expertise combined with a pragmatic mindset.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
• Comfortable working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues.
• This is a senior technical expert role without people management or coordination responsibilities.

Practical Information

• Work arrangement: 2 days on site and up to 3 days of telework per week.
• Language requirements: one of the national languages must be native; the other must be readable and understandable.
• This is a long-term consulting opportunity.
