Senior business analyst
Function
Our client is looking for a senior business analysis professional to support transformation initiatives linked to core operational processes and digitalization. This role combines hands-on business analysis with a broader mission to help shape and strengthen an internal business analysis capability, working closely with business, IT, PMO, and strategy stakeholders.
Responsibilities
You will contribute across the full lifecycle of initiatives, from early discovery through implementation and validation. The role requires both analytical depth and the ability to guide others in a structured, pragmatic way.
- Gather, analyze, and challenge business needs from key stakeholders
- Review existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement, efficiency, quality, and automation
- Translate needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, specifications, and acceptance criteria
- Ensure alignment between business objectives, IT constraints, and strategic priorities
- Support prioritization and governance of initiatives
- Contribute to validation, testing, and deployment activities
- Facilitate workshops, scoping sessions, and validation meetings
- Manage dependencies and help resolve issues related to requirements understanding
Profile
The ideal candidate combines strong business analysis expertise with a coaching mindset and the ability to operate effectively in a small, dynamic environment. A pragmatic, hands-on approach is essential.
- Proven experience in business analysis within complex or public-sector environments
- Ability to quickly understand a specific business context, ideally within the public sector or social security
- Strong capability to structure and formalize requirements clearly and accessibly
- Experience facilitating workshops and managing stakeholders
- Background in coaching, mentoring, or training colleagues
- Comfortable moving between strategic overview and operational detail
- Results-oriented, autonomous, and able to act quickly
Technical Skills
- Business analysis and requirements management at expert level
- Experience with process analysis, requirements elicitation, and modeling
- Ability to define and promote practical standards, methods, and tools for business analysis
- Understanding of governance, traceability, and quality control in analysis work
- Experience supporting knowledge transfer and capability building within a team
- Strong communication skills in Dutch and French
