Senior Data Engineer

We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join our client’s central data organization and help build high-impact analytical solutions. In this role, you’ll design and deliver data warehouses and data marts using the Kimball methodology, working with a modern Microsoft and Azure-based data stack. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary, agile team where data engineering, analytics, and business value come together.

Responsibilities
Working in close collaboration with data architects, functional analysts, and project leadership, you will:

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain end-to-end BI solutions, including data ingestion layers, data warehouses, and data marts

• Develop analytical solutions using the Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SQL Server) and Azure Databricks (Delta Lake, Apache Spark, Python)

• Ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, and data volume

• Test, troubleshoot, document, and maintain analytics solutions throughout their lifecycle

• Create reports and visualizations using Power BI and/or SSRS

• Present prototypes, demos, and data model explanations to business stakeholders, including knowledge transfer and training

• Contribute actively throughout the full project lifecycle in an agile, pragmatic delivery model

The ideal candidate
You combine solid technical expertise with a strong sense of ownership and a data-driven mindset:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

• At least 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer using the Microsoft BI stack and Delta Lake

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and Python

• Strong knowledge of Python for data engineering, including pandas and Apache Spark

• Proven experience with dimensional data warehouse design using the Kimball methodology

• Experience working in agile environments is a plus

• Strong problem-solving skills, pragmatic approach, and delivery focus
