Senior Data Engineer

Function

We're looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our client's team and contribute to the development of a modern cloud-based data platform. The organization is consolidating multiple existing data solutions into a unified analytics environment designed to improve data quality, governance, and information sharing across different stakeholders.

In this role, you will play a key part in building and maintaining various components of the data platform, combining data engineering, application development, REST API development, Azure Databricks, and DevOps practices. You will collaborate closely with project managers, data architects, functional analysts, and data teams to deliver scalable and high-quality data solutions.

Role & Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing functional analysis of data requirements and translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Designing, developing, and deploying data hubs connected to multiple master data and reference data sources.
• Implementing data transformation, integration, and CRUD functionalities within the data platform.
• Developing and maintaining REST APIs and connector services to support data exchange, configuration, validation, and integration processes.
• Contributing to the development of data validation solutions to monitor and improve data quality across different sources.
• Testing solutions, troubleshooting issues, performing maintenance activities, and creating technical documentation.
• Preparing prototypes, demonstrations, and user training sessions.
• Working closely with project leadership throughout the full project lifecycle, following an agile and pragmatic delivery approach.

Technical Profile

We are looking for a Data Engineer with strong experience in Microsoft data technologies and cloud-based data platforms.

You bring:

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience as a Data Engineer within the Microsoft BI ecosystem, including Visual Studio, SSIS, and SQL Server from a development perspective.
• Experience with Azure Databricks and Python.
• Experience performing data functional analysis.
• Knowledge of REST API development is considered an asset.
• Experience with data analytics design, including Kimball dimensional modelling.
• Experience with master data management and data quality controls is a strong advantage.
• Experience working in agile project environments is a plus.
