Senior Data Modeller

Function

We’re looking for a Data Modeler Consultant to join our client’s team and play a key role in translating complex business data into structured, scalable data models. You will contribute to enterprise-wide data initiatives, supporting reporting, analytics, and advanced use cases such as data science and machine learning.

Role & Responsibilities

You will design, analyze, and maintain data models while ensuring alignment with business needs and data architecture standards.

• Analyze reporting and data needs, including business rules and transformation logic
• Translate business requirements into logical data models aligned with end-user needs
• Design and maintain data models (Data Vault, Data Marts) and system relationships
• Collaborate with data architects and engineers to ensure optimal solutions
• Perform data profiling and propose SQL queries for data usage and reporting
• Ensure data quality, integrity, performance, and security across models
• Support development, testing, and production environments, including issue resolution
• Manage end-to-end delivery: requirements, estimation, planning, follow-up, and stakeholder communication
• Contribute to continuous improvement of data modeling standards, tools, and processes

Technical Profile

Our client is looking for a strong data professional with hands-on expertise in data modeling and databases.

• Solid experience with data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical, Data Vault, dimensional modeling)
• Strong SQL knowledge (querying, optimization, DDL)
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., DB2) and data warehousing environments (e.g., Netezza)
• Familiarity with data modeling tools (e.g., IBM Data Architect)
• Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)

Nice to have:

• ETL tools (e.g., DataStage), OLAP, NoSQL, Hadoop ecosystem
• Knowledge of data science, machine learning, or AI
• Experience with reporting tools (e.g., Tableau)
• Understanding of testing principles and ITIL

Profile & Languages

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data modeling, databases, or business intelligence
• Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
• Autonomous, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication skills, able to explain complex topics to diverse stakeholders
• Agile mindset with focus on collaboration and continuous improvement
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience)

Language requirements:

• English (mandatory)
• Dutch (mandatory)
• French (a plus)
