We’re looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer Windows to join our client’s team and play a key role in managing, securing and continuously improving a complex Windows infrastructure. You will combine hands-on technical expertise with a strong focus on automation, monitoring, hardening and operational continuity, while working closely with other technical teams in an Agile environment.

The Role & Responsibilities

As a Senior DevOps Engineer Windows, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining reliable and secure infrastructure solutions. You will contribute to both operational system management and infrastructure projects, ensuring that systems remain performant, resilient and aligned with evolving business and security requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing innovative solutions for technical infrastructure.
  • Managing and continuously improving Windows-based infrastructure and systems.
  • Contributing to operational system administration and ensuring service continuity.
  • Coordinating technical activities and infrastructure projects.
  • Monitoring infrastructure performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Defining, maintaining and implementing technical documentation, procedures and operational standards.
  • Strengthening system security through auditing, hardening and the application of security best practices.
  • Troubleshooting complex system and performance issues and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Supporting high-availability and resilient infrastructure solutions.
  • Contributing to monitoring, logging and infrastructure inventory management.
  • Leading technical projects and advising colleagues on DevOps best practices.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and actively sharing technical knowledge within the team.
  • Collaborating with other teams to continuously improve DevOps processes and ways of working.

Technical Profile

You have at least 10 years of experience as a Windows DevOps Engineer and possess strong expertise across Windows infrastructure, systems administration and cybersecurity. You are comfortable working across multiple technical domains and can quickly understand complex environments.

Your technical background includes:

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, covering both workstation and server environments; relevant certification is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of storage, networking and cybersecurity.
  • Proven experience with Windows auditing and hardening.
  • Solid knowledge of virtualization, particularly VMware.
  • Experience with backup and restore technologies.
  • Experience with Active Directory and user management, Exchange, DFS and SCCM.
  • Practical knowledge of Git and GitLab.
  • Strong scripting skills using PowerShell and/or Shell.
  • Experience with Windows Event Viewer, monitoring tools and log analysis, including the ELK Stack.
  • Experience maintaining an up-to-date infrastructure inventory, preferably through automation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, including performance tuning.
  • Experience designing or implementing high-availability solutions.
  • Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker or Podman is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management and ITIL v4 Foundation is an advantage.
  • Experience working according to Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban or Lean.

You are a results-driven professional with a strong sense of responsibility and excellent interpersonal skills. You combine technical depth with a collaborative mindset and are comfortable taking the lead, coaching colleagues and facilitating cooperation between teams. You are a clear communicator, pragmatic when required, and naturally curious about new technologies and industry developments. Given the sensitive nature of the environment, discretion and integrity are essential.

Mandatory requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of proven experience as a Windows DevOps Engineer.
  • Belgian nationality.
  • Existing Top Secret security clearance, or willingness to undergo the required security screening and obtain one.
  • Fully on-site assignment in Brussels, five days per week; remote or hybrid working is not possible.
  • Dutch or French as your main language, with a good knowledge of the other national language and English.
  • Flexible working hours.
