Senior DRP Coordinator

Function

We’re looking for a Senior Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Consultant to join our client’s IT Security team. In this role, you will take the lead in designing, coordinating, and continuously improving resilience strategies, ensuring critical systems and operations can be restored effectively in the event of major incidents.

Role & Responsibilities

As a Disaster Recovery Coordinator, you will be responsible for driving the implementation and execution of IT continuity and recovery strategies:

• Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans
• Coordinate end-to-end DRP exercises, including preparation, execution, and post-mortem analysis
• Lead restoration tests for critical applications and oversee reconstruction exercises for vital systems
• Continuously improve testing methodologies, readiness processes, and recovery procedures
• Collaborate closely with service delivery and IT teams to ensure alignment and preparedness across the organization
• Support crisis management activities and contribute to the definition of emergency procedures

Tasks & Deliverables

You will play a central role in strengthening operational resilience through structured planning and execution:

• Develop Business Continuity Plans (BCP), Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP), and related frameworks from scratch
• Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIA) to identify and prioritize critical services
• Organize and facilitate crisis simulation exercises and committee testing sessions
• Drive DRP/BRP testing cycles and ensure proper documentation and follow-up actions
• Analyze and improve processes related to business continuity and IT recovery
• Provide expert guidance across the full Business Continuity lifecycle

Profile & Skills

Our client is seeking a senior expert with a strong background in continuity and recovery management:

• Proven experience in Business Continuity Management and Disaster Recovery at expert level
• Strong expertise in BIA, crisis management, and emergency procedure development
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement BCP/DRP frameworks from the ground up
• Experience organizing and leading crisis exercises and recovery tests
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement
• Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and teams
• Certifications such as ISO 31000 Lead Risk Manager or Business Continuity Institute (BCI) are strong assets
• Experience in complex or highly regulated environments (e.g. public services, transport, infrastructure) is a plus

Languages & Additional Requirements

• Fluency in French or Dutch (native/bilingual level) with a good command of the second national language
• Professional proficiency in English
• Willingness to work on-site multiple times per week
• Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to operate effectively in crisis situations
