Senior Functional Analyst Banking

We're looking for a consultant to become a vital part of our client's team, operating within a complex financial environment. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to ensure accuracy, consistency, and transparency across reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities

The consultant will be responsible for:

• Contributing to and supporting risk and treasury testing processes, leveraging a strong understanding of financial instruments and their behaviors.
• Applying expertise in the valuation of financial instruments and financial or regulatory reporting to interpret and validate complex data sets.
• Conducting deep dives into data to identify root causes of data quality and reconciliation issues, collaborating with relevant business teams.
• Investigating and resolving reconciliation discrepancies across various data sources and reporting layers.
• Developing, maintaining, and improving data-related documentation, including data lineage, data dictionaries, and metadata.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders while working autonomously in a results-oriented consulting setup.

Profile of the Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Proven experience in data engineering or data analysis within a financial institution or related environment.
• Strong understanding of banking business and financial products.
• Working knowledge of risk calculations, regulatory reporting, or financial reporting.
• Familiarity with IRRBB or liquidity risk.
• Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and investigation.
• Experience with QS and hands-on experience with RiskPro or similar risk reporting/calculation tools.
• Good knowledge of data modeling methodologies for data warehouses and data marts is considered a plus.
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence is also a plus.

• Comfort in performing root-cause analyses and working with complex datasets.
• A capacity to work autonomously, take ownership, and deliver results in a demanding environment.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, with proficiency in Dutch being a requirement.
