Senior Functioneel Analist

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Functional Analyst to join our client’s team and contribute to high-impact digital transformation projects in a complex and meaningful environment. In this role, you will act as a key link between business and IT, translating business needs into clear, actionable functional specifications and helping shape systems that support large-scale operational processes and data exchange. You’ll work in a challenging context where structure, quality, and collaboration are critical to success.

Your role & responsibilities

Functional analysis

• Gather and analyze business requirements through workshops, interviews, and documentation review

• Produce high-quality functional specifications such as use cases, user stories, process flows, and diagrams

• Translate business needs into technical requirements for development teams

Process & data modeling

• Model business processes and data flows using standards such as UML and BPMN

• Collaborate closely with technical teams to design and validate system integrations

• Ensure consistency of business rules and data quality across systems

Validation & testing

• Define functional test scenarios and acceptance criteria

• Support and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT)

• Monitor implementations to ensure solutions align with requirements

Documentation & communication

• Maintain clear and structured documentation for both technical and business audiences

• Act as the communication bridge between stakeholders and IT teams

• Create presentations, reports, and dashboards to support decision-making

Technical environment

You will work with a modern IT stack, including:

• SQL for data analysis and validation

• UML / BPMN for modeling

• Integration patterns (real-time, batch, asynchronous processing)

• APIs and standards such as REST and SOAP

• Tools including Jira, Confluence, Visio, and Enterprise Architect

The ideal candidate

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or a related field

• 5–10 years of experience as a Functional Analyst

• Strong background in functional analysis, modeling, testing, and process optimization

• Comfortable working in both agile and traditional project environments

• Fluent in Dutch, with a good working knowledge of French

• Available full-time

• Experience in a public-sector environment is a strong plus
