Senior IT Risk & AI Governance Consultant
Function
We're looking for a Senior Consultant to join our client's team and play a key role in its transition toward an increasingly AI-enabled IT environment. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced risk and governance professional who understands both the opportunities and risks associated with AI and generative AI. You will work at the intersection of IT, data, cybersecurity, architecture, compliance, and risk, helping stakeholders build robust governance and control frameworks in a highly regulated environment.
Role & Responsibilities
In this role, you will advise and support technology and business stakeholders in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with AI adoption and digital transformation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing AI-related risks across models, training data, LLMs, and third-party AI services.
- Strengthening governance, risk, compliance, and internal control practices around AI systems and related services.
- Supporting compliance with relevant regulatory and risk requirements covering AI, operational resilience, data protection, cybersecurity, and ICT.
- Advising stakeholders on practical risk mitigation measures and regulatory expectations.
- Identifying operational resilience and cybersecurity challenges within AI-enabled environments.
- Aligning risk, compliance, and control activities across cloud, outsourced, and ICT environments.
- Collaborating closely with IT, architecture, cybersecurity, data, digital, and other relevant teams.
Profile
We're looking for a senior professional with a strong track record in IT risk and governance, combined with substantial experience in operational risk, compliance, audit, internal control, or risk management. Experience within the financial or insurance sector is essential, as is the ability to navigate complex and highly regulated organizations.
The ideal candidate has:
- 10+ years of experience in IT risk and IT governance.
- 10+ years of experience in operational risk and compliance.
- A background in audit, internal control, risk management, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience within the financial or insurance sector.
- Strong understanding of AI and generative AI technologies.
- Practical experience assessing AI risks, including models, training data, LLMs, and third-party AI services.
- Knowledge of the European AI Act, including its key obligations.
- Good understanding of DORA, GDPR, and third-party management frameworks.
- Knowledge of cloud environments, outsourced services, and ICT-related risks.
- Awareness of operational resilience and cybersecurity considerations in AI environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Fluency in Dutch and English.
