Senior Java Developer

Function

We're looking for an expert full stack Java developer to join our client's team, committed to long-term engagement. In this role, you will serve as the technical point of contact for the group, ensuring smooth operations while being proficient in various technologies within their tech stack. Your expertise with geographic information systems will also be valuable as you collaborate with a dynamic, multidisciplinary team focused on all aspects of web application development.

Responsibilities

As part of the team, you will take the lead on functional and technical design, translating business needs into technical solutions. Each development team specializes in specific knowledge domains, such as enforcement and regulations, allowing for a deepening of expertise. You will be responsible for not only building new solutions but also maintaining existing applications within your domain. Office presence in Brussels is required for at least two days a week, with remote work flexibility for the remaining days.

Profile of the Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience in developing JAVA-based applications.
• Solid background in JavaScript with at least 5 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with JPA/Hibernate and Maven.
• Strong understanding of Spring framework, ideally with 5 years of experience.
• Educational background with certifications or equivalent experience in programming languages and environments like Java/J2EE.
• Fluent in Dutch at the European CEFR level C2 and proficient in English.
• Experience within the public sector is a plus.
• Ability to lead a development team and mentor other developers.
• Skilled in programming tasks including coding, testing, and debugging.
• Familiarity with Node/npm is beneficial.
• Experience in testing and knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
