Senior Java full stack Developer

Function

Our client is looking for an experienced software engineer to help design, develop, test, and maintain business applications and software solutions. This opportunity combines strong backend expertise with solid frontend capabilities, offering the chance to contribute across the full technical stack while working closely with business and technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Translate user and business needs into feasible technical solutions by challenging requirements and clarifying what is needed, why, who it is for, when it is required, where it fits, and how it should work.
• Perform technical analysis and document changes and developments to support future maintenance and improvements.
• Develop new features and bug fixes in Java, following established patterns and standards.
• Test own work and that of team members to ensure quality, stability, and alignment with business expectations.
• Track production developments and make adjustments when needed to support efficient application evolution.
• Investigate, analyze, and resolve incidents and bugs related to assigned applications.
• Support internal and external users with technical and functional questions, and contribute to the implementation of effective solutions.
• Document the applications and processes under your responsibility, including user manuals and related materials.
• Contribute actively to an Agile way of working, including SCRUM practices.

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in Java 8+ is required, including knowledge of Reactive Streams and performance considerations.
• Hands-on experience with Spring and Maven is essential.
• Solid backend experience across the technical stack is expected.
• Good understanding of microservices is an advantage.
• Experience with databases and SQL-based querying, including Oracle and DB2, is beneficial.
• Familiarity with Jenkins, JIRA, and Git is required.
• Experience with an IDE such as IntelliJ or a similar tool is expected.
• Strong frontend knowledge in recent versions of Angular is required; React experience is a plus.
• Comfort with ngrx, OpenID Connect, HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and SASS is important.
• Knowledge of JSON Form is considered an asset.
• Understanding of database modeling and object-oriented concepts is necessary.

Profile

• Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of professional experience.
• Proven experience in Java analysis and development, preferably with Spring and Reactive Streams.
• Strong full-stack mindset and the ability to work on both backend and frontend tasks.
• Analytical, structured, and capable of producing clear technical insights.
• Proactive, autonomous, and rigorous in day-to-day work.
• Good communication and listening skills, with a collaborative attitude.
• Self-taught mindset and willingness to look for new solutions.
• Ability to respect governance and technical standards defined by the organization.

Practical Information

Language requirements:

• Fluent Dutch or French, both spoken and written ( part of the team works in French)
• Professional working English, both spoken and written
