Senior .NET Developer

Function

Our client is looking for an experienced software professional to strengthen a development environment focused on building and maintaining modern .NET applications. The assignment calls for someone who can contribute hands-on to development while also taking a leading role within the team, supporting colleagues and helping drive quality, structure, and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications built on the .NET platform.
• Write, test, troubleshoot, and optimise code efficiently.
• Take a leading role within the development team and coach fellow developers when needed.
• Contribute to Agile ways of working and help guide the team in that environment.
• Work on API development and support reliable integration between systems.
• Apply sound development practices to deliver stable, maintainable solutions.

Technical Skills

The role requires strong experience with .NET-based development, together with solid knowledge of related technologies and practices. The most important capabilities include:

• Extensive experience in .NET development, including C# and ASP.NET
• Experience with RESTful APIs
• Strong understanding of relational databases and Microsoft SQL Server
• Ability to write, analyse, and optimise SQL queries
• Knowledge of API design principles, HTTP methods, status codes, and JSON exchange
• Understanding of authentication and authorisation mechanisms such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, or JWT
• Basic knowledge of data modelling, indexes, views, and stored procedures
• Basic understanding of software architecture and design patterns
• Experience with modern component-based UI development
• Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
• Awareness of CI/CD principles

Profile

• At least 5 to 7 years of demonstrable experience in .NET development
• Relevant education with certification, or equivalent experience, in programming languages and environments such as .NET (C#) and ASP.NET
• Proven experience leading a development team and coaching developers
• Strong practical coding skills, with the ability to work confidently across development, testing, and debugging
• Experience working in a healthcare or hospital context is an advantage
• Comfortable taking responsibility in an Agile development setting

Practical Information

• Language requirement: fluent Dutch at CEFR level C2
• This is a consulting opportunity within a healthcare-related environment
• Indexation may be possible after one year of service and with explicit approval from the client organization
