Senior .NET Developer

Function

We're looking for a Senior .NET Developer to join our client's team and take ownership of designing and delivering high-quality software solutions within a complex Transport Execution Management environment. You'll work closely with solution designers and business stakeholders to translate functional needs into reliable, maintainable applications while developing a strong understanding of the business context. This role is suited to an experienced developer who combines strong technical expertise with initiative, clear communication, autonomy, and a collaborative mindset.

Role & Responsibilities

You'll be responsible for delivering complete solutions from design through implementation and testing, while contributing actively to technical discussions and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will include:

• Design and develop robust applications using the .NET ecosystem and .NET Core Web API.

• Translate business requirements and technical concepts into effective software solutions.

• Apply Clean Code, Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, and established design patterns.

• Develop secure, scalable, and performant APIs.

• Build and maintain meaningful automated unit tests and ensure a high standard of code quality.

• Work with Azure cloud services, PaaS components, and event-driven architectures.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using Azure DevOps.

• Work with Docker and Kubernetes for containerised deployments.

• Integrate applications reliably with backend APIs and support online/offline data synchronisation where required.

• Work with relational databases, including database modelling, SQL querying, and performance optimisation.

• Use Git effectively and contribute to sound branching and collaboration practices.

• Communicate technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Take ownership of deliverables, proactively identify issues, and contribute to the team's overall success.

Technical Profile

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with modern .NET development and cloud-based application architectures. You should bring:

• More than 5 years of professional experience in .NET development.

• More than 3 years of experience with Azure Cloud development.

• More than 3 years of experience developing .NET Core Web APIs.

• Demonstrable unit testing experience across at least 3 projects.

• Demonstrable experience applying Clean Code, Clean Architecture, and SOLID principles across at least 3 projects.

• Strong knowledge of the .NET ecosystem, including LINQ, async/await, security practices, data structures, and design patterns.

• Experience designing secure and performant Web APIs.

• Experience with Azure services, PaaS components, and event-driven patterns.

• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Strong SQL and relational database skills.

• Good knowledge of Git and modern version control practices.

• A proactive, independent, and solution-oriented approach.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• The ability to remain calm, constructive, and professional in challenging situations.

Languages & Practical Information

You communicate fluently in either Dutch or French at C2 level and in English at C1 level, both spoken and written. This is a consulting assignment in which independence and ownership are essential. The role may require on-site presence up to five days per week, depending on the client's operational needs.
