Function

Our client is undergoing a significant digital transformation and is looking for an experienced software engineer to help build high-quality applications within a complex federal IT environment. In this role, you will contribute to digital products that have a direct impact on social security and healthcare services, while working in a multidisciplinary agile team focused on short iterative cycles, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust software solutions and contribute to the delivery of working applications in an agile environment.
  • Take part in code reviews, automated testing, and the application of best practices to strengthen code quality.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, solution architects, and fellow team members to translate technical ideas into concrete implementations.
  • Help identify and resolve bugs as well as performance issues in existing applications.
  • Document and maintain the components and solutions you develop.
  • Actively participate in sprint ceremonies such as refinement sessions, planning meetings, and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to the integration of AI tools into the daily development workflow and support knowledge sharing within the team.

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with .NET and C# development.
  • Expertise in REST API development.
  • Solid knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git version control.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud environments.
  • Experience with SQL databases and relational data models.
  • Proven background in test automation, including unit and integration tests.
  • Ability to support AI-assisted development and share AI-related knowledge with development teams.
  • Public sector experience is considered an advantage.

Practical Information

  • Work arrangement: at least 2 days per week on site in Brussels, with telework allowed within Belgium.
  • Language requirements: fluent Dutch, fluent French, and active knowledge of English.
  • This is a long-term consulting opportunity.
