Function
Our client is undergoing a significant digital transformation and is looking for an experienced software engineer to help build high-quality applications within a complex federal IT environment. In this role, you will contribute to digital products that have a direct impact on social security and healthcare services, while working in a multidisciplinary agile team focused on short iterative cycles, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Develop robust software solutions and contribute to the delivery of working applications in an agile environment.
- Take part in code reviews, automated testing, and the application of best practices to strengthen code quality.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, solution architects, and fellow team members to translate technical ideas into concrete implementations.
- Help identify and resolve bugs as well as performance issues in existing applications.
- Document and maintain the components and solutions you develop.
- Actively participate in sprint ceremonies such as refinement sessions, planning meetings, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to the integration of AI tools into the daily development workflow and support knowledge sharing within the team.
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with .NET and C# development.
- Expertise in REST API development.
- Solid knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git version control.
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud environments.
- Experience with SQL databases and relational data models.
- Proven background in test automation, including unit and integration tests.
- Ability to support AI-assisted development and share AI-related knowledge with development teams.
- Public sector experience is considered an advantage.

- You bring a strong software engineering background and are comfortable working on full-stack development challenges.
- You are proactive, quality-oriented, and able to think through technical and architectural decisions.
- You work well in a collaborative environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Practical Information
- Work arrangement: at least 2 days per week on site in Brussels, with telework allowed within Belgium.
- Language requirements: fluent Dutch, fluent French, and active knowledge of English.
- This is a long-term consulting opportunity.
