We’re seeking an experienced Senior Network Administrator to join our client’s forward-thinking infrastructure team. In this pivotal role, you’ll take the lead in modernizing and securing complex hybrid network environments that support critical national operations. This is a contract opportunity requiring on-call availability one week per month, ideal for professionals who thrive in high-responsibility, high-impact roles.

Your Responsibilities

As Senior Network Administrator, you'll be at the heart of advanced network operations, responsible for:

• Designing, deploying, and maintaining robust physical and virtual network environments.

• Configuring, optimizing, and monitoring routers, switches, firewalls, and other core network devices.

• Ensuring high standards of network security and operational continuity.

• Collaborating with infrastructure teams to implement NFV (Network Functions Virtualization) and other virtualized services.

• Diagnosing complex connectivity or performance issues and documenting procedures and system configurations.

• Taking initiative, managing tasks independently, and evaluating technical risks with precision.

What You Bring

This role calls for a skilled and security-minded professional with:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, or equivalent hands-on experience (minimum 5 years) in network administration.

• Advanced knowledge of network architecture, protocols (TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, QoS), and administration tools.

• Experience with network virtualization technologies such as NFV, SDN, and platforms like VMware or Azure.

• A strong grasp of cybersecurity principles, with the ability to detect and mitigate vulnerabilities.

• Excellent analytical thinking and communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Fluency in Dutch or French, with good understanding of the other language, plus solid technical English.

• The ability to perform under pressure in a sensitive and secure environment with utmost discretion.
