Function

For one of our clients, we are looking for an experienced Senior IT Project Leader to take ownership of multiple ICT-driven projects within a complex organisational environment.

In this role, you will lead two or more projects with a strong IT component, acting as the central point of contact between ICT teams, internal business stakeholders and external suppliers. You will be responsible for driving projects forward, ensuring clear governance, managing risks and issues, and delivering concrete results within the agreed scope, timing and quality expectations.

You combine strong project management expertise with excellent stakeholder communication. You know how to create alignment, bring structure into complex situations and keep different parties moving towards a shared objective.

Responsibilities

As Senior IT Project Leader, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate multiple IT projects simultaneously.

  • Manage project planning, scope, risks, issues, dependencies and deliverables.

  • Act as the main point of contact for internal stakeholders, ICT teams and external vendors.

  • Ensure transparent and proactive communication throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Monitor project progress and take corrective actions where needed.

  • Apply recognised project management methodologies, processes and governance structures.

  • Support collaboration between business and ICT stakeholders.

  • Contribute to the successful delivery of infrastructure, software development and/or integration projects.

  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with quality standards, internal procedures and agreed timelines.

Required Experience

The ideal candidate has:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Leader in infrastructure projects and/or software development projects.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing and optimising multiple individual projects simultaneously.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT software projects.

  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, PMBOK or similar.

  • Proven experience with project management techniques and tools, including risk management, issue management, planning and reporting.

  • Good knowledge of MS Project and MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Knowledge of and experience with ITIL.

  • Native or near-native Dutch language skills: CEFR C2 level required.

Strong Assets

The following experience is considered a strong plus:

  • Experience within a public sector or government-related environment.

  • Experience with public procurement processes.

  • Experience managing projects involving external suppliers or vendors.

  • Experience with integration projects.

  • Certification in project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile or similar.

Profile

You communicate clearly and transparently, both with technical teams and business stakeholders. You are able to challenge where needed, but always with the aim of moving the project forward in a constructive way.
