Senior Project Manager SAP
Function
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our client’s team and support a large-scale, multi-year business and IT transformation programme. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end rollout within a complex European environment. The assignment focuses on delivering key logistics capabilities, including data migration, tax & customs processes..., while working closely with the program manager and a cross-functional delivery team.
Role & Responsibilities
As Project Manager, you will lead project activities across multiple stakeholders and domains to ensure successful delivery within agreed scope, timeline and budget. Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and manage project activities across European business units and IT teams.
- Define project goals, scope, milestones, and resource requirements aligned with the overall programme roadmap.
- Coordinate the rollout of logistics capabilities, including operational processes, data migration and system integrations.
- Establish project governance structures and ensure alignment with related projects within the programme landscape.
- Track progress, monitor risks and issues, and ensure adherence to programme standards and methodologies.
- Manage project stakeholders across business and IT domains, including internal teams and external partners.
- Coordinate intermediate delivery states between projects to ensure smooth transitions during phased implementation.
- Oversee project budget, forecasting and cost monitoring using established project management practices.
- Manage vendor interactions and procurement activities in collaboration with internal procurement teams.
- Provide regular status reporting to senior management and ensure clear communication across all stakeholders.
- Ensure quality standards, acceptance criteria and testing strategies are defined and executed during project delivery.
- Lead project closure activities, including lessons learned and post-implementation evaluation.
Tasks & Delivery Focus
Within the programme context, the Project Manager will focus on structured project execution and collaboration across multiple functional areas. This includes:
- Managing full project lifecycle activities from planning to deployment.
- Coordinating cross-functional delivery teams and aligning dependencies with other programme streams.
- Monitoring performance indicators related to schedule, cost and scope using structured project management techniques.
- Ensuring that project deliverables align with enterprise architecture standards and long-term solution strategies.
- Facilitating decision making and escalation where required to maintain delivery momentum.
Profile – The Ideal Candidate
Mandatory skills and experience
- Experience with structured project management methodologies such as PMI / PMBOK.
- Proven experience managing complex IT and business transformation projects in an international environment.
- Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, development, testing and deployment.
- Solid project management expertise with the ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams and stakeholders.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams including internal resources and external vendors.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills at both business and technical levels.
- Ability to translate technical information into clear insights for senior management and business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to solve complex delivery challenges.
- Ability to travel within Europe when required (not often, maybe once a year).
Nice to have
- Experience with large ERP transformation programmes.
- Knowledge of modern enterprise application ecosystems and system integrations.
- Familiarity with both Waterfall and Agile project delivery approaches.
- Understanding of logistics, supply chain or operational business domains.

- Dutch is preferred
