Function
We are seeking an experienced SAP IAM Specialist to enhance and stabilize our client's SAP security and access management function during a pivotal transformation phase. This opportunity focuses on addressing structural capacity challenges, elevating governance maturity, and enhancing the design and testing quality within a high-demand S/4HANA environment, where the workload has significantly increased. You will play a crucial role in mitigating audit risks, improving role design quality, and facilitating scalable access management in alignment with S/4HANA components.
Key Responsibilities
- Role Design & Quality Improvement:
- Design and refine business roles in accordance with S/4HANA best practices and organizational guidelines.
- Ensure a high-quality authorization baseline is established early in project phases.
- Maintain and enhance role documentation for both Fiori and GUI environments.
- Support the stabilization of immature S/4 role models requiring continuous enhancements.
- Governance & Operating Model Implementation:
- Extend and enforce a comprehensive access governance and ownership model.
- Clarify ownership for roles, approvals, and access reviews.
- Define and implement a standardized role catalog along with a governance framework.
- Support risk-based and ownership-driven access reviews.
- Process Standardization & Efficiency:
- Drive the implementation of a single access request channel and harmonized workflow for projects.
- Simplify and streamline complex, multi-party approval processes.
- Reduce operational inefficiencies stemming from fragmented processes and tools.
- Align access processes across SAP GUI and Fiori.
- Testing, Cutover & Project Support:
- Enforce stringent authorization testing under realistic conditions during SIT/UAT phases.
- Enhance SIT/UAT readiness and testing quality.
- Prepare cutover and hypercare authorizations in advance.
- Assist projects in minimizing late-stage changes and rework cycles.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert in SAP Security during go-lives and hypercare phases.
- Tooling & Automation Enablement:
- Rationalize and align disparate service management tools.
- Enhance the usability of user access and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools.
- Support the automation of access provisioning and reviews.
- Improve reporting and monitoring mechanisms for roles, access, and compliance.
Required Skills & Experience
- Core Expertise:
- 6+ years of experience in SAP Authorizations and Security.
- Demonstrated expertise in SAP S/4HANA authorizations (Fiori and GUI).
- Strong background in role design and build, including single, composite, master, and derived roles.
- Knowledge of SU24 / SU25, PFCG, AGR tables, and Fiori catalogs.
- Experience with Segregation of Duties (SoD) and SOX controls.
- Functional & Governance Skills:
- Experience in implementing Identity and Access Management (IAM) and access governance models.
- Deep understanding of access lifecycle processes.
- Project & Delivery Experience:
- Hands-on experience in S/4 transformation programs and testing cycles.
- Support for cutover and hypercare activities.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with IAM tools (e.g., Saviynt) and GRC tools.
- Familiarity with SuccessFactors integration and HR-driven provisioning.
- Experience in complex multi-vendor environments.

Practical Information
- This is a long-term consulting opportunity requiring a hybrid work arrangement with significant on-site presence in Ghent.
- Fluent English is a must. Dutch is preferred.
