Senior SAP MDG Specialist & Developer

Function

We’re looking for an experienced Senior SAP MDG Specialist / Developer to join our client’s SAP data transformation environment. In this role, you’ll combine functional expertise with strong technical capabilities to shape, enhance and support SAP Master Data Governance solutions. You’ll work closely with business stakeholders and development teams, taking ownership from solution design and implementation through testing, deployment and hypercare.

Role & Responsibilities

• Design and implement major changes and transformation initiatives across current and future SAP MDG solutions.
• Advise business stakeholders on SAP MDG best practices and appropriate solution approaches.
• Develop conceptual solution proposals for projects aimed at significantly improving or modernizing existing MDG environments.
• Analyze change requests and translate business requirements into clear functional specifications for enhancements.
• Act as the primary functional contact for ABAP developers, with the ability to understand technical specifications and perform debugging when required.
• Independently perform SAP MDG analysis, configuration and implementation activities.
• Execute functional unit testing and coordinate integration and user acceptance testing.
• Prepare solutions for production deployment and provide hypercare support after go-live.
• Provide day-to-day functional support to key users, including ticket handling, bug resolution and issue analysis.
• Monitor and troubleshoot MDG workflows and governance processes.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and contribute to clear roles and responsibilities through appropriate RACI models.

Profile & Technical Experience

• At least 4 years of proven experience with SAP MDG and material master data management.
• At least 3 full lifecycle SAP MDG or master data management implementations.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP MDG Central Governance 7, including configuration, workflows and governance processes.
• Solid experience with SAP Data Replication Framework (DRF), including interfaces and replication scenarios.
• Experience with SAP MDG Consolidation, including matching, merging and data quality processes.
• Proven experience with BRF rules, mass changes and LSMW.
• Strong ABAP experience, including the ability to create and understand functional and technical specifications and perform debugging.
• Expertise in ABAP OO development and debugging within SAP MDG environments is highly valued.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently across SAP MDG analysis, configuration and implementation activities.
• Strong experience collaborating directly with business stakeholders and translating business needs into robust SAP solutions.
• Experience with RACI models and structured governance approaches.

Working Approach

You are an analytical and hands-on SAP professional who can comfortably operate between business requirements and technical implementation. You combine deep SAP MDG expertise with a practical understanding of development, configuration, testing and data governance. You take ownership of complex issues, communicate clearly with both business and technical teams and remain focused on delivering reliable, scalable master data solutions. Professional fluency in Dutch and French is required, with at least C2 in one language and B2 in the other, together with English at C1 level or higher.
