Function

We're looking for a Senior Service Manager to join our client's security leadership environment in a high-impact, hands-on consulting role. You'll provide senior-level support across a range of transversal security, governance, resilience, and service management topics, working closely with senior stakeholders and adapting your focus as organisational priorities evolve. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who combines strong service management expertise with excellent executive communication, analytical thinking, and the ability to operate independently in a complex, international environment.

Role & Responsibilities

As part of the CISO Office, you'll provide expert hands-on support across operational and strategic initiatives, helping ensure continuity, strong governance, and effective delivery. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the operational CISO Service Manager in ensuring operational excellence and delivery of key security and resilience initiatives.

  • Own and report operational and strategic KPIs to senior and executive management, including dashboards, monthly management reports, executive summaries, and performance analyses.

  • Translate complex operational data into concise executive insights, recommendations, and decision-making material.

  • Prepare executive communications, management briefings, governance papers, decision documents, and formal escalations.

  • Support governance and steering committees and facilitate discussions with senior stakeholders.

  • Act as a change and communication lead where required, helping stakeholders understand and adopt organisational changes.

  • Contribute to compliance and governance activities related to ISO/IEC 27001, NIS2, and other relevant standards.

  • Provide transversal support across cybersecurity third-party risk management and business continuity/disaster recovery.

  • Contribute to cybersecurity capability improvement, risk mitigation, tooling assessments, and RFP processes.

  • Challenge stakeholders constructively, manage conflicting interests, drive decisions, and coordinate activities across a matrix organisation without direct hierarchical authority.

  • Manage multiple reporting cycles, action trackers, deadlines, and stakeholder requests while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.

  • Adapt quickly to changing organisational priorities and take ownership of new areas as business needs evolve.

Profile

We're looking for a senior professional with a proven track record in service management, governance, reporting, executive communication, or related areas within large and complex organisations. You should have:

  • At least 5 years of experience owning and reporting operational or strategic KPIs to C-level executives, boards, steering committees, or senior leadership.

  • At least 5 years of experience preparing executive communications, management briefings, decision papers, and formal escalations.

  • At least 3 years of regular interaction with senior management, executive committees, or equivalent governance bodies.

  • Proven experience delivering governance, reporting, communication, or service management initiatives within organisations of more than 1,000 employees.

  • Strong knowledge of SLA/OLA management, ITIL v2/v3, project management frameworks, and ISO/IEC 27001/27007.

  • Experience working successfully in multicultural and intercultural environments.

  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and written communication skills.

  • The ability to work autonomously under pressure and with minimal supervision.

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, particularly in matrix environments.

  • A minimum Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Administration, or an equivalent discipline.

  • Fluency in English, French, and Dutch, both spoken and written, with a minimum C1 level in all three languages and native-level C2 proficiency in either French or Dutch.

An additional postgraduate qualification in governance, risk management, change management, communication management, or project management is considered a strong asset. Experience in cybersecurity, third-party risk, business continuity, disaster recovery, or related CISO Office activities will also be highly valued.

Practical Information & Evidence

This is a hands-on consulting assignment requiring a high degree of autonomy and regular interaction with senior stakeholders. The assignment may require on-site presence up to five days per week, depending on organisational needs.

The selection process may include additional technical or competency assessments. Candidates should be able to demonstrate their experience through concrete examples, including:

  • Two anonymised examples of executive reports or dashboards personally produced.

  • One example of a presentation or slide deck explaining a complex topic to a non-technical audience.

  • One example of a formal escalation or executive communication personally drafted.

  • Two professional references from direct managers.

  • A CV containing specific examples of KPI reporting ownership, executive communication, governance reporting, steering committee support, and/or escalation management.

The ideal candidate combines communication, flexibility, leadership, analytical thinking, and organisational excellence with the ability to turn complex information into clear decisions and actionable outcomes.
