Senior System Administrator

We’re looking for a talented and motivated Senior System Administrator to join our client’s growing technology team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of maintaining, optimizing, and evolving system infrastructures across both hardware and software domains. You’ll play a vital part in shaping new infrastructure initiatives while ensuring the stability, performance, and security of existing systems.

Role & Responsibilities

As Senior System Administrator, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of IT infrastructure components, ensuring reliable and secure operations while supporting innovation and automation initiatives. Your main responsibilities include:

• Managing, maintaining, and upgrading existing and future hypervisors

• Configuring, deploying, and administering Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, Debian, Red Hat)

• Ensuring system performance, availability, and data security

• Troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues and driving technical improvements

• Overseeing or performing installation and maintenance tasks

• Creating and updating technical documentation and operational procedures

• Contributing to the infrastructure evolution roadmap and automation strategies

• Implementing Infrastructure as Code practices to automate VMware deployments

• Taking ownership of assigned tasks and managing risks appropriately

• Collaborating effectively within the team while being able to work independently

• Demonstrating initiative, analytical thinking, and a proactive learning attitude

Profile

You are a structured and pragmatic IT professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys taking responsibility for stable, efficient, and scalable infrastructure operations.

Required skills and experience:

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a System Administrator

• At least 5 years of experience managing Windows and Linux operating systems and system software

• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies and related management tools

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code to automate VMware deployments

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent through 5–10 years of relevant professional experience

• Analytical and solution-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities

• Solid understanding of mobile telecommunication technologies

• Curious, enthusiastic, and eager to learn new technologies

• Fluent in Dutch or French, with a good understanding of the other language

• Good command of written and spoken technical English

• Discrete, stress-resistant, and reliable under pressure
