Are you ready to make a difference in a dynamic IT environment? Our client is seeking a Service Desk Engineer to contribute to a large-scale migration and rollout project. You'll be part of a vibrant team, driving the transition from Windows 10 to Windows 11 on over 4,000 devices. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your skills and play a vital role in delivering exceptional IT support.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Service Desk Engineer, you'll take on diverse responsibilities, including:

1. First-Line Support

  • Providing technical assistance to end-users through calls, emails, and ticketing systems.
  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues efficiently.

2. Migration and Rollout

  • Deploying new PCs, laptops, and peripherals on-site, dedicating approximately 70% of your time to device installations.
  • Configuring and testing Windows 11 operating systems, applications, and updates.
  • Ensuring proper network connections and robust security settings.

3. Troubleshooting and Collaboration

  • Identifying and resolving technical challenges in hardware and software during deployment.
  • Partnering with the IT team to overcome rollout-related issues.

4. Training and Documentation

  • Educating end-users on effective use of new equipment and software.
  • Documenting tasks, processes, and interactions to maintain clear records.
  • Consistently delivering professional and efficient service to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.

The Ideal Candidate

Our client is looking for someone with:

  • Educational Background: A degree in IT or equivalent professional experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11).
  • Practical Experience: Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, as well as deploying PCs, laptops, and tablets.
  • Skills and Attributes:
    • A detail-oriented and proactive work approach.
    • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
    • Excellent communication and customer-focused skills.
    • Fluency in Dutch is essential.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work on a rotating schedule and travel between locations in the Waregem area. A driver’s license is preferred but not mandatory.
