ServiceNow ITOM - CMDB specialist
Function
We're looking for an experienced ServiceNow ITOM & CMDB Specialist to join our client's ServiceNow team. In this role, you will take ownership of the ServiceNow ITOM Discovery solution while contributing to the continuous evolution of the organization's CMDB and IT Operations Management capabilities. You will collaborate closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to design, implement, and optimize scalable ServiceNow solutions, ensuring high-quality configuration management and alignment with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the application owner for the ServiceNow ITOM Discovery solution, driving enhancements and ensuring platform quality.
- Gather and translate business requirements into user stories, technical designs, and implementation plans for Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and CMDB capabilities.
- Configure, implement, test, validate, and document new functionalities while preparing update sets and supporting release activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the CMDB by implementing new features, including data source integrations and Service Graph connectors.
- Collaborate closely with Configuration Management stakeholders to ensure accurate and reliable CMDB data.
- Promote the use of ServiceNow best practices and out-of-the-box capabilities to deliver sustainable, maintainable solutions.
- Support application lifecycle management, including documentation, knowledge transfer, third-line support, and monitoring vendor product evolutions.
- Work within a multidisciplinary ServiceNow team supporting multiple platform modules and initiatives.
Your Profile
You have at least three years of experience implementing and administering ServiceNow CMDB and ITOM solutions within enterprise environments. You hold ServiceNow Administrator certification, the CSDM – CMDB Data Foundations certification, and at least one CIS-ITOM Discovery certification. You possess strong expertise in ServiceNow Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, MID Server configuration, CMDB Workspace, Service Graph Connectors, data source integrations, Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE), data policies, data certification, reporting, and Digital Portfolio Management. You are experienced in gathering user requirements, creating user stories, producing technical designs, and configuring ServiceNow components such as business rules, client scripts, UI policies, UI actions, workflows, catalog items, web services, and reports. A solid understanding of ITIL and ITSM principles, combined with excellent knowledge of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM), enables you to translate technical concepts into practical solutions for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Additional Information
Candidates must be based within the European Economic Area and be able to work part-time on-site in Brussels. Professional proficiency in English is required. Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with a proactive approach to delivering high-quality ServiceNow solutions.
