We're looking for a consultant to join our client's team, focusing on enhancing the platform through advanced technical expertise and leadership within an established Enterprise Service Management (ESM) environment. This position entails working alongside two internal team members, with an emphasis on mentorship and guidance rather than management duties. The consultant will coordinate closely with an external ServiceNow provider to ensure effective service delivery and platform optimization.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will bring strong hands-on technical capabilities in ITSM and contribute significantly to the ongoing development of the internal team. Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the ServiceNow platform owner, ensuring knowledge sharing and skill development within the internal team.
  • Providing functional guidance to internal team members in building their technical competencies.
  • Managing collaboration with external ServiceNow providers regarding contract specifics.
  • Conducting analysis and executing configuration work, alongside supporting colleague development through training and coaching.
  • Leading coordination of significant changes via external service providers and ensuring thorough execution from requirements gathering to implementation.

Profile of the Ideal Candidate

Our client is in search of a candidate with the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of technical experience in ServiceNow implementation projects.
  • Deep understanding of ITSM and out-of-the-box ServiceNow processes, with at least 10 years of related expertise.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow configuration (Flow Designer, scripts, UI policies, business rules, catalog items, CMDB, SLAs), requiring a strong track record of 10 years.
  • Experience with API integrations, Flow Designer/IntegrationHub, and security components (5 years).
  • ITIL v3/4 certification and familiarity with Agile methodologies, preferably Scrum.
  • Strong command of Dutch or French and proficient English are required.

In addition to technical skills, the ideal candidate should possess:

  • Proactive attitude and ability to work independently in dynamic environments.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate complex concepts to varied stakeholders.
  • Being results-driven with effective prioritization skills.
  • The capability to report clearly on progress, issues, and decision points.

This role is preferred to be filled part-time, and there is potential for contract extension based on performance evaluations.
