We’re looking for an experienced Solution Architect / Technical Consultant to join our client’s team on a large-scale application modernization initiative. This role sits at the heart of a strategic digital transformation program, where a mission-critical case management system is being rebuilt using modern Microsoft technologies and cloud architecture. You’ll combine hands-on technical leadership with architectural governance, guiding both backend and frontend teams toward a robust, future-proof solution.

The Role & Context

Our client is modernizing a core administrative application currently built with legacy technologies. The solution is being fully redesigned with C#/.NET for the backend, Angular for the frontend, and a migration from Oracle to SQL Server, all hosted in a Microsoft Azure cloud environment with DevOps best practices. Existing functional capabilities will be preserved, supported by detailed functional analysis documentation. The application manages complex end-to-end administrative workflows, digital document generation, correspondence, and integration with external digital channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with predefined architectural principles and solution architecture standards, escalating deviations to the architecture governance body when required

• Act as solution architect and technical lead, providing guidance to developers and validating frontend and backend implementations

• Define the data architecture and oversee the Oracle to SQL Server migration

• Supervise cloud integration within a Microsoft Azure ecosystem, including APIs and platform services

• Contribute hands-on to backend development, delivering high-quality, standards-compliant code

• Organize and lead agile ceremonies (stand-ups), support sprint planning, and collaborate closely with project and program management

• Oversee solution documentation and ensure effective knowledge transfer to internal teams

• Define automated test scenarios and support end-user testing and validation

The Ideal Candidate

• Strong experience as a Solution Architect or Senior Technical Consultant in complex enterprise environments

• Excellent knowledge of .NET/C#, Angular, SQL Server, and Microsoft Azure (including DevOps practices)

• Proven experience with database migrations from legacy RDBMS platforms

• Comfortable operating in agile delivery models and coordinating multidisciplinary teams

• Hands-on mindset combined with architectural oversight

• Familiarity with Belgian public-sector institutions related to asylum and migration procedures is required

• Able to work to agreed deadlines while maintaining high quality and clear communication
