We’re looking for a talented Architecture Consultant to join our client’s team, where you will play a key role in shaping and safeguarding the architecture within a complex IT landscape. In this position, you will ensure that solutions are scalable, coherent, and aligned with long-term strategic objectives, contributing to sustainable and future-proof systems.

Role & Responsibilities
As an Architecture Consultant, you will work at the intersection of business and IT, translating needs into robust architectural solutions while maintaining consistency across initiatives. Your responsibilities include:

• Analyzing and challenging business requirements, transforming them into end-to-end architectural designs
• Evaluating impacts on the existing landscape and defining target architecture aligned with strategy and standards
• Documenting functional flows, system interactions, and business rules using UML and architectural diagrams
• Collaborating with project leaders, technical architects, and development teams to ensure feasibility and alignment
• Safeguarding architectural quality, coherence, and long-term sustainability
• Identifying risks, dependencies, and contributing to project and architectural roadmaps
• Promoting alignment and knowledge sharing across teams and stakeholders

Experience

• Proven experience in large-scale, complex environments with multiple stakeholders and legacy systems
• Strong background in functional and/or solution architecture

Technical Expertise

• Solid knowledge of modern architecture principles and patterns such as domain-driven design (DDD), API-based architectures, orchestration, and BPM
• Expertise in integration architectures including REST APIs, asynchronous messaging, and event-driven systems
• Experience modeling architectures using UML and enterprise architecture tools (knowledge of ArchiMate is a plus)
• Familiarity with cloud architectures, preferably within Microsoft Azure environments, including understanding of trade-offs and constraints

Education & Languages

• Relevant degree in IT, engineering, or equivalent experience
• Fluency in English and Dutch is required
