We're looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join our client's team and contribute to the design and evolution of large-scale, business-critical digital solutions. In this strategic role, you will define and guide solution architectures, ensuring they align with business objectives while remaining scalable, secure, and future-proof. You will collaborate with business and IT stakeholders, facilitating architectural decisions and helping teams deliver high-quality solutions in a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Solution Architect, you will:

• Define and maintain robust solution architectures that support long-term business and technology goals.
• Facilitate architectural discussions, ensuring that design decisions, trade-offs, and associated risks are clearly understood by both technical and business stakeholders.
• Act as a trusted partner for business teams, enterprise and domain architects, IT management, and delivery teams.
• Validate solution designs and oversee their implementation to ensure architectural consistency and quality.
• Perform architectural analysis of large initiatives and business epics, translating complex requirements into practical solutions.
• Identify constraints, evaluate alternatives, mitigate risks, and recommend improvements or re-engineering opportunities where needed.
• Promote knowledge sharing and contribute to the continuous evolution of architectural standards and best practices.
• Keep stakeholders informed of architectural challenges, opportunities, and progress throughout the project lifecycle.

Your Profile

To succeed in this role, you bring:

• At least 10 years of experience as a Solution, Integration, or Application Architect.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in the railway or transportation sector, or a similarly complex operational environment.
• At least 5 years of proven experience in integration architecture and API management technologies, including API gateways.
• Practical experience with event-driven architectures and technologies such as Kafka and Azure Cloud.
• Strong expertise in API design and documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Solid experience with UML and ArchiMate modelling, including the creation and interpretation of architectural diagrams.
• ArchiMate Foundation certification and Open Agile Architecture certification.
• Professional proficiency in Dutch or French (minimum C1 level), with a good command of English (minimum B2 level).
