Solution Engineer & Scrum Master

Function

We're looking for an experienced Solution Engineer – Scrum / Agile Delivery Master to join our client's large-scale digital transformation programme. This is a senior, hands-on role for a technical expert who combines a strong Java cloud engineering background with extensive experience leading Agile software delivery. You will join an ongoing initiative involving highly experienced multidisciplinary teams, where you will contribute directly to the design, coordination, implementation and successful delivery of modern cloud-native solutions. This is not a pure Scrum Master, coaching or advisory role—the focus is on technical leadership through active participation in solution delivery.

The Role

As a Solution Engineer – Scrum / Agile Delivery Master, you will combine technical engineering expertise with Agile delivery leadership to ensure the successful execution of complex software initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating Agile delivery across multidisciplinary development teams while actively contributing to solution design and implementation.
• Facilitating Scrum ceremonies, release planning and delivery roadmaps, taking into account dependencies and long-term planning.
• Designing, developing and supporting secure, scalable cloud-native applications built on APIs, microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Guiding development teams throughout the full software lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to deployment and operational support.
• Working closely with developers, architects, analysts and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality solution delivery.
• Supporting the implementation of Agile frameworks such as SAFe and LeSS while continuously improving delivery practices.
• Contributing to architectural discussions and helping teams resolve complex technical challenges.
• Promoting collaboration, continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the engineering teams.
• Ensuring solutions follow modern engineering principles, security best practices and cloud-native design patterns.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a senior Solution Engineer with extensive experience delivering enterprise software in Agile environments. You are equally comfortable discussing architecture, contributing to development activities and coordinating delivery across multiple stakeholders.

Required qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent through experience.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in software engineering.
• At least 10 years of hands-on experience designing, developing and integrating APIs and microservices.
• Minimum 10 years of Java SE development experience, including at least 5 years with Java SE 10 or later.
• At least 5 years of recent experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Master within cloud-native software development projects, combined with a technical role such as Java Developer or Software Architect.
• Strong experience with event-driven architecture, event sourcing and event handling.
• Hands-on experience implementing Agile frameworks such as SAFe and LeSS.
• Experience using Azure DevOps to manage Agile software delivery.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and business audiences.
• Fluency in Dutch and French, with an excellent command of English.

The successful candidate should have strong expertise in the following areas:

• Software architecture and solution design
• Azure DevOps
• Scrum and Agile delivery methodologies
• SAFe and LeSS frameworks

The following are considered strong assets:

• Experience with Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Development and Domain-Driven Testing.
• Experience with the Angular framework.
