Solution Java Engineer & Scrum Master

Function

We are currently looking for a Senior Solution Engineer with strong Agile Delivery Master expertise to join our client’s technology team. This role is designed for a hands-on expert who combines deep technical knowledge in Java cloud engineering with extensive experience leading Agile delivery in complex software initiatives. You will join an ongoing initiative and work within a highly skilled team composed entirely of senior-level experts. This is not a pure coaching or advisory role — the focus lies on hands-on coordination, solution design, and technical implementation.

Role & Responsibilities
As a Solution Engineer and Agile Delivery Master, you will play a key role in guiding the team through the delivery of modern cloud-native solutions while actively contributing to architecture, development, and technical decision-making. You will help coordinate delivery activities while ensuring that high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions are implemented efficiently.

Key Tasks

• Coordinate and guide Agile delivery processes while actively contributing to solution design and implementation
• Translate architectural concepts into concrete technical solutions within modern cloud-based environments
• Design and develop APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems using Java technologies
• Facilitate and contribute to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, refinements, retrospectives, and demos
• Support the planning and maintenance of medium- and long-term release calendars while managing dependencies across initiatives
• Work closely with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital solutions
• Guide the team in designing secure, scalable, and resilient applications across the full technology stack
• Contribute to the deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management of applications in hybrid or cloud-native environments
• Continuously update and share knowledge on new technologies, tools, and development practices within the team

Profile – The Ideal Candidate

• Degree in Computer Science or a related IT discipline from a recognized European higher education institution
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience designing and developing APIs and microservices
• Minimum 10 years of experience with Java SE development, including at least 5 years with Java SE 10+
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Master, preferably combined with roles such as Java developer or software architect
• Experience delivering greenfield software projects using modern architectures such as APIs, microservices, eventing, and cloud platforms
• Minimum 5 years of experience with event-driven architecture and systems (event sourcing and event handling)
• Proven experience implementing Agile frameworks such as SAFe or LeSS
• Minimum 3 years of experience acting as an Agile Delivery Master within cloud-native software initiatives
• Experience using Azure DevOps for Agile delivery management
• Strong experience in software architecture and design across cloud, API, microservice, and event-driven environments
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to propose alternative technical solutions and recommendations
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Knowledge or practical use of Behavioral Driven Development or Domain Driven Design
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular

Language & Work Environment
Fluency in English is required, along with strong working knowledge of both Dutch and French due to the multilingual working environment. The role follows a hybrid working model with approximately three days per week onsite to support collaboration and team cohesion.
