Function

Our client is looking for a driven procurement professional to strengthen a dynamic team focused on high-voltage substation works in Belgium. In this role, you will take ownership of strategic purchasing activities for project-based works, working closely with internal experts, project teams, and external partners to shape sourcing decisions, support ongoing contracts, and contribute to long-term category development.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement process, including market publication, tender analysis, negotiations, offer evaluation, and project award.
• Lead the setup and execution of tendering procedures.
• Define and implement project procurement strategies based on market insight.
• Work closely with internal specialists and colleagues to understand project needs and align them with market capabilities.
• Build expertise in both the market and the technical domain of your category, contributing to the long-term category strategy.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to identify business needs, improvements, and opportunities.
• Support procurement objectives and transversal initiatives through category and market knowledge.
• Share market and category insights with internal stakeholders during negotiations on contractual terms.
• Support project teams and contract managers in the commercial and contractual follow-up of projects in execution, including monitoring additional costs and ensuring compliance with contract terms such as quality, planning, and safety.
• Develop sustainable relationships with contractors in close cooperation with the supplier management function.
• Contribute to the introduction of new ways of working within the team.
• Align with a counterpart in another European market to exchange insights and best practices.

Profile

• You bring strong procurement or sourcing experience, ideally in a technical or project-based environment.
• You are comfortable managing complex tenders and negotiating contractual conditions.
• You combine market awareness with the ability to translate business and project needs into sourcing strategies.
• You work well with internal stakeholders, technical experts, and external suppliers.
• You are proactive, analytical, and able to build long-term value within your category.
• You communicate clearly and contribute constructively in a cross-functional setting.
