We are looking for an experienced and versatile System Engineer to join our client’s team. If you thrive in dynamic environments and have a passion for managing robust systems while driving operational excellence, this opportunity is for you.
The Role
As a System Engineer, you will:
- Conduct technical analyses and problem-solving, resolving complex system issues in Microsoft, VMware, and Linux environments.
- Manage vulnerability remediation by installing updates and patches across server infrastructures.
- Take ownership of an asset portfolio, ensuring proper day-to-day operations and lifecycle management.
- Create and maintain detailed system documentation outlining configurations, processes, and maintenance procedures.
- Collaborate with architects to design and implement system solutions that align with business needs.
- Drive automation efforts, improving infrastructure provisioning and management through tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Work closely with IT teams (service desk, network, security, architecture) to achieve shared goals.
- Continuously improve system performance, implementing measures to enhance functionality, security, and operational efficiency.
- Manage projects from inception to delivery, ensuring they remain on scope and schedule.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ICT (or equivalent experience).
- At least 5 years of experience as a System Engineer.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft environments (Windows Server, Active Directory, SCCM, IIS, Clustering, etc.) and VMware.
- Basic to intermediate Linux knowledge (Red Hat/Ubuntu Server); deployment and administration experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with Cloud technologies like Microsoft Azure and container orchestration tools is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of Networking and Security fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, network topologies).
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
- Exposure to DevOps practices and tools.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and remediation.
- A team-oriented mindset, excellent communication, and strong time management abilities.
- Flexibility to handle on-call duties and a proactive, curious attitude.
