System & Security Engineer

Your Role & Responsibilities
As part of our client’s core infrastructure operations, you will be responsible for:

Administering, maintaining, and securing IT systems and networks to ensure high availability, performance, and compliance with security standards.

Managing and evolving security solutions: firewalls, antivirus, access control, log analysis, vulnerability management, and more.

Installing, configuring, and optimizing physical/virtual servers, storage solutions, networking gear (routers, switches, Wi-Fi), and backup systems.

Handling security and operational incidents, providing Level 2 & 3 technical support, and leading remediation efforts.

Performing regular audits, assessing risk, verifying compliance, and recommending improvements.

Contributing to the evolution of security documentation in collaboration with the CISO.

Staying up to date with the latest security threats and technologies through continuous research and vigilance.
Technical Environment & Key Skills
You’ll be working in a rich and diverse technical ecosystem. Key competencies include:

Advanced administration of Windows Server, Linux, hybrid cloud environments (incl. M365, Azure AD), and virtualization (VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V).

Strong networking knowledge (VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NPS, 802.1x), with hands-on experience on Cisco, Checkpoint, and enterprise Wi-Fi.

Proficiency with security best practices: hardening, IDS/IPS, antivirus (Trend Micro, Defender, Kaspersky), log monitoring, and vulnerability management.

Experience with infrastructure monitoring (Zabbix, WSUS, Intune), backups (Veeam, NAS), and DR/BCP testing.

Scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python), and familiarity with DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes).

Database administration (MariaDB, MSSQL, PostgreSQL) is a plus.

IT project management skills and familiarity with ITIL methodologies.
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for a well-rounded IT professional with the following profile:

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in systems, networks, and security administration.

Recognized certifications (Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, CEH, CISSP, ITIL, ISO 27001) are a strong advantage.

A methodical and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication skills and a knack for translating technical details for non-technical users.
