Technical Architect
Function
We’re looking for an experienced Technical Architect to join our client’s team and take ownership of the architecture, evolution, and optimization of a broad technology domain within a complex enterprise IT environment. You will ensure that technology solutions remain secure, performant, highly available, resilient, and aligned with the wider Enterprise Architecture, while acting as a key bridge between technical teams, business stakeholders, project teams, and management.
Responsibilities
- Design, document, validate, and implement architectural guidelines and technology standards within an established architectural framework.
- Define technology choices based on functional requirements, enterprise standards, IT strategy, and roadmap priorities.
- Incorporate performance, high availability, disaster recovery, security, maintainability, and cost efficiency into architectural solutions.
- Monitor the technology landscape, identify improvement opportunities, and proactively recommend solutions to increase stability, performance, and maintainability.
- Contribute to technology roadmaps, business cases, project scope, planning, and budget assessments.
- Validate proposed solution designs and provide technical expertise for projects, framework agreements, procurement processes, and technical evaluations.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, technical experts, business stakeholders, and management, creating alignment between functional and technical requirements.
- Communicate architectural decisions, standards, opportunities, and recommendations to relevant governance bodies and stakeholders.
- Research emerging technologies, assess their applicability through proofs of concept or demonstrations, and contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Profile
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience as a Technical Architect or in a comparable role within large-scale enterprise environments.
- Experience working in environments with at least 100,000 endpoints, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and tablets.
- Knowledge of project methodologies such as PM².
- Relevant certification such as MCSA, MCSE, or MCSD.
- Strong expertise across databases, infrastructure, security, networking, and cloud technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of several of the following: SAP, TCP/IP, networking, cloud technologies, automation, Active Directory, ADFS, Azure, Entra ID, Exchange, PKI/certificates, SMTP, IAM solutions such as TrustBuilder and SAP IDM.
- Strong scripting capabilities, particularly with VBScript and PowerShell.
- Fluent in Dutch and/or French at C2 level and English at C1 level.
- Willingness to work onsite in Brussels at least 2 days per week.

You have excellent communication skills and can engage effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior management. You are highly organized, know how to prioritize in complex environments, and are comfortable driving change. A strong understanding of security processes, policies, and regulatory requirements, combined with hands-on knowledge of infrastructure, identity, cloud, networking, and enterprise technologies, will enable you to make a tangible impact on the quality and future evolution of our client’s IT landscape.
