Technical Project Manager
Function
We’re looking for a Technical Project Manager to join our client’s team and lead complex infrastructure and building technology initiatives. In this role, you will manage projects from concept to delivery, ensuring that technical solutions related to building automation, physical security, and network infrastructure are implemented successfully. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers while maintaining clear oversight of scope, planning, budget, and quality.
Role & Responsibilities
As a Technical Project Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of technical infrastructure projects and coordinate multiple stakeholders and suppliers.
Project Management
• Initiate and plan projects by defining the high-level scope, schedule, and budget.
• Estimate implementation efforts and costs together with technical experts and external contractors.
• Define the detailed scope, planning, and financial framework and communicate this information to the project team during kick-off.
• Identify, manage, and follow up on project risks and issues, escalating when necessary and working with stakeholders to find solutions.
• Represent the client during project delivery and capture lessons learned at the end of the project.
• Ensure proper documentation, knowledge transfer, and training for operational and support teams.
• Maintain an overall overview of ongoing projects and report progress to stakeholders.
Coordination
• Manage several projects simultaneously depending on size and complexity.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and multiple suppliers within each project.
• Act as a central point of contact between internal teams, contractors, and external partners.
Technical Studies & Specifications
• Conduct detailed technical studies aligned with applicable standards in collaboration with contractors.
• Define functional specifications for new systems or upgrades of existing technologies.
• Review and validate supplier proposals and technical offers.
• Prepare technical specifications, documentation, and tender-related materials.
Reporting & Support
• Provide regular updates on project progress through structured reporting to stakeholders.
• Monitor project budget, effort, and progress on a monthly basis.
• Support escalation management when critical technical incidents occur by analysing the situation, contacting relevant parties, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
Profile – The Ideal Candidate
Our client is looking for a technically strong project manager who combines structured project management with a solid understanding of infrastructure technologies.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical project management within building automation, telecom infrastructure, or electrical systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent through experience.
• Proven expertise in structured cabling and access control or other building automation technologies such as CCTV, intrusion detection, or fire detection systems.
• Knowledge of IT networking, including physical network infrastructure.
• Experience coordinating installation or construction-related technical projects of medium to large scale.
• Familiarity with relevant electrical or safety regulations.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and standard office tools.
• Ability to coordinate multiple suppliers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Professional proficiency in French with good knowledge of Dutch or English for reporting purposes.
• Willingness to travel regularly to operational project sites.
Evaluation Criteria

• Experience monitoring contractors regarding planning, quality, and deliverables.

• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills within multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to provide practical examples of resolving technical incidents.
• Experience managing two or more technical projects simultaneously.
• Ability to maintain alignment between stakeholders, suppliers, and internal teams.
