Test Analyst

We're looking for an experienced Test Engineer to join our client's team and play a key role in strengthening software quality across backend applications. You'll help identify testing gaps, reduce testing debt, improve test coverage, and establish a proactive quality assurance approach. Your Responsibilities

In this role, you'll take ownership of testing improvements and contribute to ongoing quality assurance activities within an Agile Scrum environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing existing test coverage, reviewing automated tests, and identifying and documenting testing gaps and technical testing debt.
• Developing and implementing a structured approach to improving test coverage, testing efficiency, and overall quality.
• Performing static testing of functional requirements and reviewing functional analyses and user stories to assess completeness, consistency, and testability.
• Evaluating the testability of applications, services, and batch processes, identifying where mocks, stubs, and drivers are required.
• Defining, preparing, and executing test cases, interpreting test results, reviewing automated tests, and investigating discrepancies between requirements, system behaviour, and test cases.
• Collaborating with stakeholders, including business and technical representatives, analysts, developers, and test automation engineers, to strengthen testing practices and build automated regression suites.
• Reporting on testing progress, outstanding testing debt, and unexpected system behaviour to relevant stakeholders and management.
• Supporting test environment coordination, maintaining test documentation and reports, and contributing to the overall testing strategy.
• Promoting quality standards across project teams by advising analysts on testability, coaching developers in test automation, and collaborating with fellow testing professionals.

Your Profile

We're looking for a quality-driven professional with hands-on application testing experience, a strong analytical mindset, and the communication skills needed to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Your experience and technical skills include:

• Solid knowledge of testing methodologies, processes, and activities.
• Experience with test management tools such as TestLink, issue and project management tools such as Jira, and collaboration platforms such as Confluence.
• Practical knowledge of test automation tools and frameworks, including SOAP UI, REST Assured, JUnit, Spring Boot Test, and Postman.
• A basic understanding of software development practices, continuous integration, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Basic knowledge of Java, SQL, UML, BPMN, and version control systems such as Git and SVN.
• Experience reviewing requirements, defining test cases, executing tests, analysing results, and identifying inconsistencies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to advise and coach both developers and analysts.
• ISTQB Foundation or Advanced certification is considered an asset.

Practical Information

• Languages: Fluent in both Dutch and French.
• Experience: Previous experience in application testing is required.
